Reviews
The rooms are great, have curtains to have privacy and and lights being switched on. Each bed comes with a built in shelf to pop items in neatly and conveniently. The plugs were also located well so that irrespective of cable length you could plug in anything you wanted knowing it would charge.
The rooms were a bit difficult to get into as the room cards were very fiddly and particular way to make them work on the 3/4th attempt.
Bathroom is small but clean and well built. None in common area however.
The common area is a little run down and the sofas didn't look very clean.
The kitchen was clean and the breakfast spread was simple but very good, with bread and a few different spreads and jams, and some cheese and ham slices. 2-3 cereal choices and coffee and orange juice to choose from.
The rooftop area was not very pleasant to sit on during the day as the bar has all of the cushions and opens in the evening.
The swimming pool is a nice touch, more of a plunge pool to cool off at around 8ft wide and about knee depth, and has fantastic views from that height, you can see all over the city and is gorgeous at night. You get a discount at the bar, meaning drinks are very reasonable at the bar and a fantastic atmosphere in the evening to hang out in
The staff are friendly and helpful.
For the price it was really worth it and would visit again.
The place was nice and clean! The only thing that bothered us were the pillows, which are not very comfortable.
We loved the location, it is close enough wherever you decide to go.
The staff is nice and helpful. Also, the morning playlist is such a nice way to wake up.
Very good breakfast!
This is a really great hostel "boutique". The staff are exceptionally kind and welcoming. In particular, the common areas are very clean and well maintained. In the kitchen, there are several accessories and cloths for cleaning. I don't often go to hostels, but I'd go back to this one any day!
The hostel has a very cozy and homely atmosphere. You can feel that everything here is done with care for the guests.
Free city tours, rooftop parties, and evening movie screenings in the lounge.
Special attention should be given to the rooftop bar with a wonderful city view. They regularly host concerts and parties, and hostel guests always have open access, with discounts on drinks at the bar.
This is an excellent place for solo travelers. You'll meet many interesting people here and can make new friends. It's also a great place for those who travel and work because it's just as comfortable to work here.
Later, I spent another week in Porto at a different, more popular hostel. However, in comparison to Rivoli Cinema, it was a complete disappointment.
So, I got more than I expected here and would happily stay here again.
This is not a safe place! Especially if you are a solo traveler. If anything bad happens to you, this hostel would not help you, nor take any responsibility and actually would not care at all. That was exactly what happened to me when …
Good rooms with card operated lockers and decent showers. The included breakfast was good. Kind people. Easy to meet people during breakfast because of the common table. Fun rooftop bar.
Nice hostel with some quirky rules, but all good fun. They gave events they organize and a rooftop bar. Well equipped shared kitchen.
Rooms were very nice and clean and the bed was comfortable with privacy curtains and shelfs inside. Lockers was bigger than a hand luggage, so there was a lot of place to put my things. Everyone there was friendly, both staff and guests. Breakfast was good with multiple choices, and chocolate cake was very tasty.
